just passed referendums to legalize gay marriage AND sell/smoking of weed. which makes it the only place in the world where it is legal to buy weed. (amsterdam you can smoke but not buy)

oh and obama was re-elected.

Funny, I live in Washington State and it's full of idiots who were all for legalization of marijuana. And by idiots I mean the "420 KUSH KUSH AK47 AFGHAN DIESEL , SMOKE WEED EVERY DAY BECAUSE I'M COOL!". Grow up. I think it's a horrible idea to legalize it. The only thing that's legal are the products defined in the Initiative, which is taxed. Plus if you're caught with more than you're supposed to have and you're under 21 years of age, you're fucked.

Anyway, gay marriage? They deserve it.

Also, you can purchase weed in Amsterdam at any local coffee shop up to a certain level of THC from what I understand of Dutch law. You just need to be 18 years old.

I made phone calls for hours to voters in Colorado for legalization and I don't even live there. Its just better to be legalized i have my reasons for supporting legalization but it has nothing to do with personal reasons, its just overall a bad idea to illegalize a substance as beneficial as cannabis.

Legalizing it is one of the smartest things done since prohibition. MJ being illegal is just like prohibition, it does more harm being illegal than being legal. For example, now that it's legal, think of all the drug related violence that will stop because there will be no more drug dealers selling pot since you can get it in a store just like liquor. Also, think about how instead of millions, if not billions going into drug dealer's pockets it will now go into the government pocket and benefit just like alcohol and tobacco taxes. Lastly, there's nothing bad about marijuana, it's actually much safer than alcohol and tobacco. Know how many people have died solely from smoking marijuana? 0. Absolutely 0. Sure, people have done stupid things while high and killed themselves, but marijuana alone has never been related to a death. You can do much stupider things while drunk than you ever could while high. The only reason people hate marijuana and think it's horrible is because of those lying pricks at DARE. They make up statistics and lie about marijuana. They tell you that you can die just from smoking it once and other bullshit like that. Marijuana is a medicine too, it's not a toxin or anything. People who think that alcohol is safer are ignorant. Now trust me, I'm not hating on alcohol, I'm Irish. I MUCH prefer alcohol! I just am a firm believer that marijuana should be completely legalized.

Hail its actually one of the most, the reason i support it is because when i got arrested, they sent me on beyond scared straight, thats where they send you to jail and the inmates try to scare you. But there was one kid who was 11 and he happened to be in the same car with a kid who had weed without knowing it. He was sent there and the prison guards yelled at him for 2 hours and he lost his voice from crying so much. I was there for other crimes but they put us in a cell together and i talked to him and he didnt even really know what weed was. The system is so intent on punishment that it forgets about the innocense of an 11 year old, just because someone in the same car as you has a little baggie of grass the government will punish you without mercy. This 11 year old kid was told by the inmates he was gonna suck their dicks and then the prison guard actually put the 11 year old in the cell, locked the door and walked away.
