not sure if fixed yet, but i'm just here to say that it's updating for me right now.

apparently it's something to do with garry's mod not getting it's directx libraries in time and so it just gives up within 1 second and says "fuck you" then crashes.
then again there is a workaround, but i don't like it. |

When it crashes hit the windows button go to all programs click on steam and then click on garry's mod, don't close the hl2.exe error message and it should just work again.
