5 Hour Energy
New reports implicate an additional brand of energy drinks in deaths.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed on Wednesday to the New York Times that the agency has received 13 reports of deaths potentially linked to the high-energy drink 5-Hour Energy in the last four years. Health officials have been raising the alarm over energy drinks for their caffeine content, not all of which is accurately listed on the product, and the lack of regulation over the beverages. Because they are considered a dietary supplement, the drinks aren’t subject to the same strict regulations established by the FDA that govern foods. Fucking spontaneous abortions. Jesus christ. I hate when people drink energy drinks for no reason. Shouldn't it only be for athletes?

Well they say its for athletes but it more or less keeps them tired later on in the jog or what ever. So its not just a drug that is legal like coffee. (Well caffeine is the drug) |

Sounds like I'm kind of lucky to have a caffine sensitive stomach. I drank one of these once... and the result was not too great.

The issue is people who take one after the other, or regularly use them to stay up far later than they should. It causes a buildup of fatigue poisons and masks the effects of them, which can cause anything from heart problems to poor judgement. Both of which obviously can lead to death.
Few things anger me, but you should fear to tread where others have not. |
