Highest download speed in your country/area

I live in Sydney, Australia and i was wondering. What are the download speeds in your area?

Im on a optus plan and it says the max for me is 18Mb ( After i rang them up)

And the max i have seen it go up to in these 4 months is
80kb/s on a torrent with 1400 seeds.

Damn you optus and your indian customer service.

And so... i have 10 mb Speed... and it downloads Usually... 1mb Sec.

I Usally get 10mb on non steam games but steam games give me 450kb download speed, the highests ive gotten was 12mb

Dern thing downloaded GTAIV onto my playstation in less than thirty minutes.

Fastest internet in my area is probably whenever Dreamhack is, they're 3 hours from where I live and they have the fastest internet in the world(at least in 2011). I have 2Mb down because I live in the fucking woods and the fastest I've downloaded was when I worked at a computer repair shop where I got download speeds of 30MB/s from steam.

One thing that always bugs me is when people use b and B like they're the same.
b is bit and B is byte there's 8 bits in one byte so when I said 30MB that's 240Mb.

No offense to anyone I just wanted to clear that up.
