My Thumb

On saturday morning I woke up with the top of my right thumb feeling numb, it stayed that way for the rest of the day. After that on sunday afternoon when I woke up it continued to stay the same. Now its Monday afternoon and it still feels numb.

Anyone have expirence with this or a possible fix?

I'd just keep an eye on it, if it gets even more severe then get it checked out. Do you sleep with your hand under your pillow or anything? The only time I wake up with that problem is when I sleep on it.

No I don't sleep with my hand under my pillow, But on friday night I slept on the floor of my room.

Do you have blood sugar problems? My friend had problems with his blood sugar and his toes and fingers go numb often.

If it doesn't cause you any pain I would just ignore it and go about your business and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, go to the doctor and get it checked out.

I wouldn't know about any blood sugar problems, Are there any signs that could tell me if I do?

And theres no pain with it, just numb.

True. I had some numbing issues with my arm before I started physical therapy. I have major spinal issues and that could be a possibility.

It's something to consider. As for signs, not too sure. All my friend had told me was the numbness and the sickness if you don't eat every few hours to keep up your blood sugar levels. Look it up.

My fingers got numb once and so did the bottom of my feet.

If it doesn't go over soon or another area goes numb i'd advise to get to a doctor ASAP.

ummm, look around where its numb, even on around your whole thumb and see if there is little red / white / black marks if there are go to the hospital

Just call your doctor and ask him if it is normal (I have not had a doctor for 14 years) but if you know you have had spinal problems in the past just ask.
