Stretched Ears
What do you guys think of stretched ears? I've been stretching for 4 years, I'm currently at 25mm. Which is 1 inch.
It seems to be a concept that's slowly becoming more acceptable, you got people saying that it's gross and retarded or you got people saying it's cool and whatnot. I have no specific reason why I started stretching, I simply just wanted to do it. So I'm curious to know what you guy's think about it, seeing as all of us come from different countries and states. P.S. I'll post a picture of my ears if it's requested. Doc Holiday/Xiao Jian Yi - Serious Roleplaying Hell Ethics Committee Member

In the most unrude way of saying this.
I thought earrings were a little ridiculous already. I'm puzzled why anyone would want to do this, maybe for the convenience of it I suppose.

That's where I draw the line of acceptable. People often bring up pictures and make references to people who stretch that big but it's all personal opinion. Whatever they like, I guess. I think it's stupid, but to each his own I suppose. I reckon some would think riding a motorcycle would be stupid but it's all about what you're into.

RE: Stretched Ears
Sorry, but when I see someone with gauges/stretched ears I wanna stick my fingers in them and pull their face down on my knee to cause as much pain as possible. Just my opinion though. I think it's stupid. What are you going to do when you grow up and try to get a real job? They don't shrink, or at least not all the way. Or what about when you're a grandpa and your grandkids are like "Grandpa, why do your ears have big holes in them?"

RE: Stretched Ears
My ears are stretched, and it's true, after a certain point they don't ever go back to normal without surgery. Mine were at 5/8ths of an inch, about 5 years ago, and I got lazy and left them open. They shrank down to a 2g, but they will never get any smaller than that. They've been open and sitting at 2g for 3 out of those 5 years, I only recently decided I may as well put something in them.
I think they're attractive, but there is such a thing as too big. Like that coke can that Nukette assumes everyone with stretched lobes is going for. |

I'm going to become an ear surgeon and make a ton of money in the near future when everyone doesn't want them anymore
I think they're weird if they're longer than half an inch |

RE: Stretched Ears
Whatever floats your boat I guess, I only have one thing to say about it: good luck getting a decent job in the future. Same goes for most body mods really, yeah they might look cool and not cause you any problems when you're 18, but is it worth doing considering how frowned upon they are by the older generations we're working for?

Yeah, that argument comes up a lot when I talk to people about stretched ears. It depends on your career path. The career I chose to strive for isn't affected by my ears, thankfully. Some of my friends who have stretched ears managed to get jobs places that someone who didn't have them could get a job. Reason I stated it's slowly becoming more acceptable. Also, it's interesting that so many people dislike them and think it's stupid. So many people where I live are interested in stretching and little to no one shares the same opinion as you guys. Primarily the reason I made this thread was because we all come from different backgrounds. Doc Holiday/Xiao Jian Yi - Serious Roleplaying Hell Ethics Committee Member

RE: Stretched Ears
Not only are you going to miss out on a few job importunity, as Drake suggested, but think about when you're old and have grandchildren. You could be setting a bad example, and plus you may greatly regret it. Same thing goes with tattoos, sure it's cool when you're young but when you get around 40 you might start regretting it. Imagine your self when you're 60, with a full body tattoo or stretched ears.

Most of my friends from before uni were quite into body mods, I was the odd one of the group cause I didn't. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't think it's worth it. Now I'm an adult and I'm working towards a career that isn't high paying but it's what I wanted to do and my ears wont affect my progess. The difference between tats and gauges is that you can Hide any tat that isn't on your hands, face, or neck. You can't hide gauges, like, at all.
