Quite an interesting/funny review
Quote:Unfortunately, a genuine Benchmade Balisong Trainer is rare to find since they are discontinued. This is an alternative method of trying new techniques without ending up with several stitches or having to reattach your fingers from an Orthopedic Hand Surgeon. The other method is to be tough and use the live blade or be more conservative and tape up your knife. Tricks like the Suicide Drop or various Aerials are better suited to something like this tool. Why anyone would need a double sided bottle cap opener is beyond me. Maybe there's a lot of Tsingtao Beer Drinkers in Mainland China or these were rejected ideas from the RonCo TV infomercial for the Super Bottle Cap Opener. It's not a Balisong and it's not really a Tool. I like to term it "Bali-Fool"!

The handles I have for evaluation are a brushed "Stainless Steel" and so is the "Blade". The latch appears to be diecast metal. The tolerances on this are not tight, at all, and it has a lot of play at the blade, handles and latch. The nonstandard screwdriver is too big for anything to be useful, and I haven't tried to open my favorite brew of Red Stripe Jamaican Beer with the multiprong opener.

The black finish that I have also tried scratches off very easily. However, this is not for a beauty contest, and if you're really drunk, you won't be looking at the tool. You'll be looking for your designated driver.

Pros

You can actually find one to buy
It's cheap
It's for "Lovers" and for "Fighters"
No more need to buy Bandaids
No more need to go to the Emergency Room for slicing yourself or your friends

Cons

You really cannot open 4 bottles of beer at one time. It is physically impossible.

Manipulating this bad boy is just like a regular 1980s Butterfly Knife made in Japan (contrary to popular belief, not everything is made in China - at least not in the 80s; it was Taiwan and Hong Kong). It's heavy and doing aerials is just the same. My screws were tight so I loosened them, unlike my preceding reviewers who had loosening screws. The action is pretty smooth, but relatively quiet for those romantic nights. If you're using it as it was made, it is best not to drink too much. You may still get poked pretty hard from the bottle opener or the screwdriver. For the average "Mall Ninja", this bad boy will have you creating your YouTube Videos in no time - you will become Legendary, and have many women running after you. Even in bars, this entertainment tool may be just the right conversation starter.

"Is that a bottle opener or are you just happy to see me?", you will hear all the time. At least you will become the life of the party, since you will be the "Gatekeeper of the Beer". Shhh! Just don't tell anyone that the Domestic Beers are twist off, you need to ensure your popularity.

Verdict

Two thumbs up (the two fingers you will still have when you practice tricks with this thing)

So go out and become the life of the party and get your own authentic Chinese Made Multi Bottle opener right now. Your parties await.
