This is how the apoc happens.
That station's gonna collide with the earth, and at least one country will be wiped out.

How would a 500 ton astroid wipe out the Earth? It would be way too tiny to do that lol
A 500 ton object hitting a billion ton object or how ever much the Earth ways won't destroy the Earth
[Image: meteor-craterb.jpg] this was probably caused by a 500 ton or larger meteor, it is 1km across

But yet we don't go back to the moon.

Why?

Why?

Why would we need to go back to the moon? We already have all the information we need from it. It's all about mars now biotch.

f=m * a

force= 205746038122.22(weight in grams) * 25000 (meters a asteroid travels in a second)

force= 5143650953055500 force (in grams)

and that would go to around 50441984618781.72 newtons, an average atomic bomb has around 300,000 newtons of force.. 50441984618781.72/300,000 = 168,139,948.72927 atomic bombs.

So, about a hundred million atomic bombs going off.

I think that'd destroy the earth

F=MA

Mass=KILOGRAMS not grams.

Acceleration does not equal velocity. You presented the velocity, or meters/second. Acceleration is meters/second/second or in other words meters per second squared. Your math is all flawed.

The article says the asteroid they plan on lassoing has a diameter of 1600 feet, that equates to about 488 meters. This arcticle gives probable destruction damage based on size of the asteroid.

350 Meters - Destroys area the size of a
small state. Ocean impacts produce
tsunamis.

700 Meters - Land impact destroys Virginia,
Tiawan and ocean impact causes
major tsunami.

So if anything the asteroid would destroy at most an area the size of Virginia.

also, you are forgetting how much of it would burn up upon planetary reentry.

Spoiler:
Why hello there insanity
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.
