Okay, I'm going to start this off by saying, I'm probably going to be posting here a lot. Every day I play SRH, a rather large white goose lays upon my head at least a dozen golden eggs (ideas). Some of them more adventurous then others. Some of them A LOT more adventurous then others. If I were to have a title, it'd probably be The Brainstormer or some shit, but back to the suggestions. The suggestions I will be giving today are less drastic than others I have in mind, and hopefully can be easily implemented if they are accepted.
Step 1 of Suggestion, Job List at Spawn Menu: I want a fully functional Citizen class. I find the citizen class as one of the most potentially diverse classes on DarkRP, if not the most, but is currently the most useless class on SRH. Even more useless than the AFK class which at least lets people know the player is AFK. I want to transform the citizen class into something more beautiful, but before doing so we must address a problem. No more default spawning as Citizen. Upon connection to the server, you must immediately select a job from the job list. Having the job list appear as the first thing you see upon connecting would already be a plus. Most people head straight for that list anyway. If this is done, we could begin transforming the citizen class into a class that could open many new opportunities for the server and all other classes alike. Step 2 of Suggestion, Re-Creating the Citizen Class: Citizens earn a salary just like any other class. I would make this class have a Salary of $20, $35, and $50 (based on levels). The levels would represent job promotions, and like in real life, you would get a raise. Each level would change the model as well. The Levels would be as follows: - Level 1: Model: Civilian in the dark blue prison/jump suits, Salary: $20, Special Abilities/Items: N/A for now. (I want to add in new special items specifically for the citizen class, but I don't know how likely it would be that you guys could do that.) - Level 2: Model: Dressed civilian (if models can' change with level ups, I'd make this model default for all), Salary: $35, Special Abilities/Items: N/A - Level 3: Model: G-Man from Half-Life, Salary: $50, Special Abilities/Items: N/A Edit: PLEASE DISREGARD THE GMAN MODEL SUGGESTION! Step 3 of Suggestion, Choosing Special Abilities/Items. I have no idea how easy/difficult it would be to find something for the civilian class to have implemented into SRH, so I'm just going to leave it at that and wait and see what you Admins tell me about adding such things. Here are some of my ideas of special abilities and items I've thought of: Items: - Coffee Maker - (Like a gun lab/microwave) Produces coffe that increases sprint for 3 seconds per use. (good for escapes) - Tool box- fixes broken money printers. (can only be used once per printer) - Sacked Lunch - increases health by 20 - Computer - Use the exclusive (to citizens) /work command and receive $1 to $7 every time used (This is one way they could work). Special Abilities: - /work - Use on computer (line appears like when picklocking) These are just a few ideas that could be explained and thought out more, but I thought I might as well throw a few of my ideas in here. Suggestions, Comments, Problems? The point of this thread is to get the idea of a USEFUL citizen class going through your minds. Even, If we just start out with giving them a salary like the gang members currently only have (other than annoying bottles), I'd still like to see a new class emerge, and hopefully become a great part of SRH afterwards. Please do leave suggestions, comments, and errors I may have with my suggestion. (Like I even have to ask..) Also, I'd like to know about the likeliness of adding special abilities (commands), and class exclusive items to SRH. This is pretty thought out, I love it. It's something I've thought about, the citizen job is just a useless job that people sit around in when they have nothing to do. Actually adding something to the citizen job would be awesome.

Sounds pretty good actually, but I'm pretty opposed to the printer fixing, it feels a bit overpowered and instead of having citizens roaming the streets you would just have a bunch of them in some apartment waiting for their printer to explode.
But other than that it would definitely be cool to give the citizen class more diversity. |

We used to have PCMod installed on the server, I don't think it works for Gmod13 anymore, however.

The salary looks a bit OP I think, and I don't really like the idea of having a third job with GMan as the model.
The other ones look like good ideas, but the coffee would need to last more, 3 seconds is like nothing, the time between you dropping the coffee and drinking it during a escape would get you arrested already. Drakehawke: i was going to ask whether i should wank to straight or gay porn today |

It'd be interesting to make the computer use the 'freerice.com' website for questions for work. Not only would players be making money by answering easy questions, but could also help fight against world hunger.

Yea, I kinda forgot that GMan is the model for the mobboss (I was up at 7AM typing this), so just disregard that part. Also, I thought about the time frame for the coffee's boost, and I just didin't want it to be like 10 seconds, because then people could just stock up and be at full speed all the time. Changing clothes (models) is actually a pretty cool idea that should be implemented for all classes. Well, not if we made it to where citizens could only buy homemade money printers, and they'll be reasonably expensive tool kits ($200 or so). That's another thing. I don't think all classes should have access to certain printers. It just doesn't make sense for a random citizen to have access to a professional printer.
