[REQ] CP Adjustments/Ambitious Ranking System Idea EDITED
I've had this idea for awhile and I just saw someone post about ranks in another thread which reminded me. Awhile back, I even wrote down this idea. Kinda sketched it out, I mean. Before I get to the ranks, I want to list two adjustments that I think the CP's need, even if ranks aren't implemented.

Edit: I have added stars "**" next to things that I believe should definitely be implemented.


Adjustments:

- Extra USP clip: I think that level 2 CP's and higher should have an extra clip for their USP. Mainly because it is their main weapon, and one clip can empty fast.

- ** /backup command: This is definitely a must. As a CP, it's sometimes hard to get some help, or let people know where the next place to raid is. With this, it would help tremendously. The Mayor would be in charge of assigning ranks with the Team Management feature. Also, if these ranks were to be implemented, CP's shouldn't be able to access the /job command. **

Ranks:

** Civil Protection Chief:
- Limit: 1
- Added Equipment: XM-1014 shotgun
- Increased stats: None
- Exclusive Commands: /unrank, /rank (name) (rank)
- Additional Info: In charge of all police. Can send a request to the Mayor to rank or unrank other CP's. **

Edit: If a CP ranking system is not implemented, or even considered, I would very much like you to consider Civil Protection Chief to become its own class instead. (I will be making a thread on this sometime tomorrow)

S.W.A.T (Lockdown Only):
- Limit: 10
- Added Equipment: (Whatever S.W.A.T. already gets)
- Increased Stats: 20 armor points (or 50 if level 3 armor carries over)
- Exclusive Commands: None
- Additional Info: Basically same as S.W.A.T. now.

Riot Squad/Crowd Control:
- Limit: 3
- Added Equipment: Riot Shield (replaces battering ram; is used for protection; breakable)
- Increased Stats: 50 Armor Points
- Exclusive commands: None
- Additional Info: Used to bust into areas controlled by armed units.

Precision Sniper:
- Limit: 2
- Added Equipment: Edit: Scout (changed from AWP)
- Increased Stats: None
- Exclusive commands: /spot (creates orange crosshair symbol above spotted enemy; one spot at a time; must be in their direction to spot; can be seen only by user; marker can be seen through objects; disappears after 30 seconds if spotted enemy is not killed)
- Additional Info: Used to take out specified targets.

Explosives Specialist:
- Limit: 2
- Added Equipment: C4 (1 or 2 charges), or Door Bombs (from GMod 12; make doors disappear for 2 minutes)
- Increased Stats: 50 armor units, or explosion resistance (if possible)
- Exclusive Commands: None
- Additional Info: C4 is only to be used during raids, if RDM/ freindly fire happens with C4 away from raid area, INSTANT DERANK. (admins may also warn the user not to use C4 away from raid areas).

Under Cover CP:
- Limit: 1
- Added Equipment: None
- Increased Stats: None
- Exclusive Commands: /disguise, /undisguise (/disguise turns the CP into a Citizen, no items are lost, and cannot be told apart from other citizens.)
- Additional Info: Under Cover CP's do what you would think they would. They disguise themselves as a citizen to catch criminals. (Drug Dealers, Heavy Arms Dealers, Gangsters doing illegal stuff, etc.) Once disguised, if they use their stun stick or any other tool/ weapon, they instantly become undisguised, and cannot use anything for the first few seconds after undisguiseing (like when you are in jail).

Civil Protection: (No Explanation Needed)


Ugh, took me 2 hours to write this. Its hard to get all your ideas down as simple as possible sometimes when they're so complex in your head. Oh, the reason I didn't give many of the ranks guns is because then Arms Dealers would loose a large group of customers. If you guys can think of anything that should be added or adjusted about these ranks, please say so, and I may edit the post. I think this could really change the CP class and the SRH server itself, and I hope you guys agree.

Edit: I realize that a request like this more of a suggestion, or a very ambitious idea, which was intended. I really just want you to focus more on the idea of Civil Protection Chief becoming its own class, as well a the requested CP adjustments. Also, thanks for the feedback guys! ~Monjj

I say /backup should not be use-able for 5 minutes after respawning with /backup activated, to prevent the CPs from doing /backup as soon as they spawn and running to the raid where one or two CPs are waiting for the other CPs with /backup. Also, I say that /backup can be activated for up to 10 minutes, but can be deactivated by using /unbackup before the ten minutes are up. After the time is up or you deactivate the back up, you cannot use /backup for 5 minutes. For the same reason as not being able to use it after dying with /backup activated. Raids go on forever when all 10 CPs just spam /backup.

I agree. That is very annoying.

The explosives expert with the C4 seems unnecessary. However if it were a concussion grenade of sorts or something, it would seem acceptable.

Well, if you were to plant it outside an entrance, hide it in a base, or even throw it through a window it would be pretty useful. I thought about flashbangs and grenades, but it didn't seem right for an explosives specialist. I can't think of anything else for the rank other than claymores, mines, or a rocket launcher, but those are even more "unnecessary". I have also thought about time bombs, but I thought too many people would be opposed to it.
When I think of explosives expert I think of C4's and other timed charges. If you have any ideas for what would make a good explosives expert please share, because I don't really have anything else better than a C4.

Before gmod 13 there were door bombs for level 3 CP that destroy doors for i think 2 minutes, without doing damage. I guess that would be replaced by the explosives expert in alot of ways...

I can change it to the scout or whatever but a ranked siper needs their gun. Also it's a CP, not some gang member, an the limit is pretty low. It's not like I'm making a whole class spawn with one.

I think sniper are a bit much to be spawned with.
Maybe with the new taxes system?

I would say yes, as these are all excellent ideas. but too much unnecessary trouble and changes to accomplish.

It would be nice to choose what weapon at level 3 you can spawn with if you are respected.

And change it whenever you want.


I.E.

*Dies with mp5*

*Presses f4 menu*

*Clicks from a small list of guns a cop can spawn with*

*Now has like a tmp or a pump shotgun*

And if this was possible, damn it would be cool to be a cop.


The menu could be a small tab in the VIP section that says CP Armory or something

Instead of a normal officers pistol you can choose a p228 or somethin'

p228s are the best, I wish cops had them instead.

And why can only cops get USPs? Why can't GDs sell them?

Some how I feel this would be a bit over overpowered? I mean, I'm pretty sure Arms Dealers would make less money if CP's could spawn with a free shotgun or machine gun, and it wouldn't be fair to Gangsters that CP's would always have high powered guns.

I love exclusives, and I feel that USP's are the perfect pistols for CP's in my opinion. Also, it would be weird to see anyone else with a USP.

USP's have amazing accuracy, good damage and are quite balanced for cops. These are all good suggestions, the only question is method of implementation.

I think ranks should be added one by one after the ranking system menu itself is implemented, if it is.
