Need Computer Help Once Again
So I made a thread a little bit back but I kinda need help finding parts, I don't wanna be too specific but i'd be great if you guys could help me find parts that are a good match and will work with eatchother and I can get them for the least amount of money as possible.
The specs I pretty much want is, a computer that can run Arma OA on at least -High- settings. I want to spend up to 600-1000 dollars. I do want a pretty good amount of Gigs but I don't want over 500Gb's. I pretty much don't care about the Fan or the Case. The MotherBoard and CPU can be at a medium quality. And I don't really know much about computers but I'm trying to study about building them and how all the parts work. And I want to build my computer not buy it already built. I'd appreciate it if some of you guys could help =P cause i'm really close to getting my computer soon. ![]() "Most people are pussies, scared to be what god made them to be"– Scott Mescudi |

RE: Need Computer Help Once Again
In order to have a high performance computer you need to care about the case, fan and motherboard. If you have a bad/cheap motherboard and a high end graphics card all the power from the card would be bottle necked. I also suggest going to a computer building site, not a role play community full of 12 year olds.

And some I think are pretty expensive and I'm not sure of which kinds of parts I should pick. ![]() "Most people are pussies, scared to be what god made them to be"– Scott Mescudi |

RE: Need Computer Help Once Again
Stick to AMD parts, intel + Nvida is far to expensive.

RE: Need Computer Help Once Again
Intel/nVidia is generally better.
AMD is basically a cheaper alternative. Also, one does not simply not care about motherboard. |

RE: Need Computer Help Once Again
If you're building your own, I wouldn't spend your money on an AMD. You don't have to buy the best Intel/Nvidia, but I would go with one of those instead.

To run ARMA on high really isn't that hard.
I don't see why people think ARMA is good, graphically. it looks like shit tbh. “Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need. ” - Khalil Gibran SRH's Superadmin ![]() |

RE: Need Computer Help Once Again
Khan ok to have a good gaming PC the main things to look for first then to last in a list for you
1. mother board 2. processor( make sure the the processor matches the socket in the mother board and that its compatiable with it) 3. computer case (btw you need to make sure that you get a motherboard that fits inside your case) 4. ram / memory that the mother board supports 5. video card (this is the MAIN thing that brings the computer together you need to have atleast a GTX 660 TI) 6. Power Supply ( make sure that you dont get one thats too high for everything to run on but is just perfect) you can probably take everything else out of this computer, or do what i did and get a mother board that has a good sound drivers and has 1gb ethernet network card in it if you need any help add me on steam i can do alot more help / pick out stuff for you and with you for your price range :) |

Yes. I only had 500 and that's not enough to build a game.

RE: Need Computer Help Once Again
Lemme just say right now, the motherboard is the most important part.
What do you do? Let me tell you. Find a suitable motherboard. Find one that's compatible with Intel/nVidia, AMD sucks balls and isn't always as easy to upgrade. Try to find one that can easily manage multiple storage units at a fast pace (Meaning not only Marvell sockets). Also, find one that's compatible with the sockets of most processors within your price range. For me, I had already decided on an LGA1155 processor. In addition to this, it needs space for a graphics card. After this, pick out your graphics card and RAM. Shouldn't be too hard if you have already decided on a motherboard and thereby know what to look for. After this, pick out a HDD and an SSD if you have the cash, before deciding on a PSU. The PSU is probably the easiest part, as you just need to make sure you have enough power. Anything else is up to you. Then, if you have leftover money you can invest it in extra fans, or water CPU cooling. I like water CPU cooling, most do, but some people don't find it necessary. Especially those on low budgets. Oh, and don't forget a case. Unless you decided on a large one before deciding your parts, take a look for it now. Try to find one that looks nice with a window (looks good) and good airflow (keeps it cool). ![]() (03-31-2012 04:20 PM)Drakehawke Wrote: Marsh is banned from voting but likes to vote anyway and hope I don't notice. |
