Ion is the amount of electrons orbiting the atom that are less or greater than the amount of protons in an atom, either giving the atom a positive or negative ion.

A molecule is a covalent, polar, or ionic bonding of atoms, for example a water molecule is H20, it is binding of 2 hydrogen atoms and on oxygen atom. A hydrogen bomb is an intermolecular force of H-H that is split resulting in a large disharge of energy in the form of heat an photons. Ions have to do with electrons, for example H^- is different from H^+ even though they are both hydrogen atoms
