It comes from Norse mythology, a god. It is actually a name from a very popular game that was very recently posted on the forums. Starts with a B, as I may have said before..

Other clues are- my family traces back to France (Onette's a very uncommon last name here) and my once-Norse name went through the vernacular process to become something different. French-ified that bitch.
