Sony has released the date of which they are going to release the info about the PS4 and its actual release date. (Sounds funny lmao.)

On February 20, they are going to reveal it. They say that it is supposed to be released by the end of the year in the US (holiday season) and early 2014 in Europe.

According to experts and shit, the price range should be around $350-$400. I doubt that though, I predict it will be more like $450-$600. I mean, it would be really cool if it actually was only $350-$400, I just can't see that happening though.

Unfortunately, it most likely will not be backwards compatible due to using a different chip or something.

And apparently, the PS4 will be easier to code/port for. (Like how some games, such as Skyrim, are buttfucked on PS3. That won't happen any more is what they are saying.)

Oh, and it is going to have 4GB of Ram compared to the PS3's 512MB of Ram.

Should be cool.

I think it's because I still have mine.
I bought it the year it came out (2006?) and it never got the red rings.

It's shitty compared to the slims but it still works.

I had to get a new one because I was a dumbass and starting modding my gamerscore and modding recon armor for halo 3 which got me console banned lol
So I had to get one of the black ones, the non-slim ones. I sold my console banned one for like $50 on Ebay

I think 360 was '05, and PS3 was '06.

But yea, I feel like they haven't been out long yet either. Although I would obviously like an upgraded Next-gen console, I almost feel like it isn't time yet, due to how advanced Current-gen consoles already are.

And nobody say the Wii U is next gen, it's fucking not. It's on the level of PS3/360. Nintendo is just years behind lol, and they still can't make a better console.

I'm not sure how I feel about Sony right now.

I remember the PSone, which was a really big deal back in the day. Whoever thought about packing up their playstation and carryin it around? Then the PS2- we waited in line to get it. I remember first turning it on, seeing those spheres of light rotate in a circle. It was amazing, the differences between the two. When I plugged Kinetica (the game we got with the release) in, I was shocked by it. Same for Frequency. It was mindblowing.

But with video games I feel jaded nowadays. I learned quickly that graphics don't mean anything, but I feel the developers don't realize that. And I am anticipating what's coming with the PS4. Will they once again give us something that will overheat in a couple of days? Are they going to sacrifice efficiency and versatility for fancy-looking gimmicks? It's all up in the air, but I'm not going to buy one until I know for sure it's not screwed up or useless like the PSP Go or the original PS3.

Good point, but what was wrong with the original PS3? That one was the best, it was backwards compatible. I had the 60 gig up until a 2 summers ago, because I got the yellow light of death. Fuckin my luck, only 2-3% of peole get the YLOD haha. It's like RROD, but for PS3. The red/green light goes yellow.

I temporarily fixed it, like how you can temporarily fix the red ring, and sold it to gamestop lol. It's complicated as fuck to temporarily fix it. It might work fine forever once you fix it, or it might only work for a couple of hours. I don't feel guilty though, gamestop steals enough money from me.
