[REQ] Remove names on money printers

I just talked to Burnacid and he informed me that the names on the printers are OOC. If this is the case I think we should remove them to prevent confusion.

Firstly, if you can't know who the printer belongs to, you can use it to frame people.

Secondly, if you lose your printer and later find a printer that just so happens to be yours, you can't know it is yours. As a citizen, you have the choice to either take it or hand it into the police. Obviously you're not going to hand in your own printer to the police when your name is printed on there.

Thirdly, cops can't find a printer, look at the name, destroy the printer then proceed to make the person wanted.

For these reasons, it would be best if the name was taken off the printer. Or allow the names on the printer to be used to IC and RP reasons.

Why are there names on the printers anyways? It just allows easier metagaming. If we have no names on gun vendors or microwaves, it make sense to put them on printers.

If this would hinder or interfere with an admin's ability to handle a situation, simply let the ownership of the machine to be seen for mod+ when you hover your cross hair or cursor on it.

+1 on this- I didn't know if it was considered OOC or not, but I thought it wasn't very realistic to have anybody's name on an illegal device.

I guess that's really the gangs fault. Take care of your printer That happens to microwaves all the time. They get stolen and you never get them back. You don't know which is yours. Unless we've added names to vendors and microwaves too.

If anything add it to the rules, but I would still rather get rid of the name.

Reason: like wazzy said gangs like to printer farm and it has also helped admins and mods know who's printer bombing if they are there.

I would say that this is fine if in console it says

1. Whose printer exploded.
2. Who it killed.
3. You can change the color of the printer.

This is what I would be fine with.

Otherwise make the names in context.

Learn to know where your printer is. It's as simple as that. If somebody else fucks with it, then clearly you know that the guy you're printer farming with is an asshole, or somebody trying to take it.

I'm suggesting this to prevent possible metagaming. Even if it we put it in the rules that you cannot metagame with printers, there are still going to be a lot of people that will. Yes I know, you're probably going to say "WELL WHY DON'T WE JUST GET RID OF PROPS TO STOP PROP SPAM".

This is a different case to that. It hardly changes anything and if anything creates better RP. It eliminates the possibility of metagaming with printer names and only causes small problems for people who keep can't keep track of their own printers.

How about, the ability to show, or not to show your name?(You can only turn it on/off when buying, after that you cannot change it(This is only for the printer you bought, not for all of them).)<<With that, remove the meta rule on looking at the names on the printer.

Do you guys seriously forget where you put your printer? Lol... Anyway +1 to Mernimbler, cops metagame all the time like this. They will find your printer somewhere and /want you because your name is on the printer.
