This isn't just about WoW, it's pretty much any online game anymore. And this is really bad. It's like the gaming community is slowly dividing into two groups, the elitists and the noobs.

I played WoW- I thought it'd be a badass adventure across the world, exploring every nook and cranny, roleplaying with friends. When I finally got to it I learned that it wasn't an open world at all. It was a series of levels divided by large mountains. There were no nooks and crannies, no mountains to climb, no vast world to explore as much a they'd like to disagree. They packed only what they needed into every level, then closed it up into its own solitary little home. Roleplaying is dead there. All that matters is ilvl (gearscore back when lich king was going down). I'm hoping that the MMO genre eventually gets past its gimmicks and cliches and builds some interesting games with open, awe-inspiring worlds. Maybe gives us a little more adventure than just running from one quest to the other.

If only Skyrim could be an mmo. ;D

But still in every game there is a group of elites and the problem is that the group of elites are becoming bigger than casuals.

Instead of teaching people, they flame people or leave them out for not know some things.

Well that's what I'm sayin. Today the elitists are just a burden and need to be removed. The other day, my younger friend who was just getting into league was playing in the noob brackets (eg she had absolutely no experience in any RTS so it put her at the lowest bracket possible) and there were smurfs outright harassing her for being noob. So players who had reached higher levels and couldn't make the cut went back to the lowest of the low and they were harassing the actual noobs. What in the almighty fuck?
