BFBC2 - Non-Realistic
I don't think BFBC2 is realistic in any other way than those dumb explosions.
Firstly, a fucking assault/medic can snipe better than any sniper, are they fucking serious? You can snipe from further with a frigging LMG/Automatic weapon than you can with a sniper? Secondly, Hardcore mode. That shit just removed the UI, it claims that damage is increased, but snipers are still two shot kills. Snipers are the most useless kit in the game, they can be beat by any other class. And don't get me started on the maps, practically no snipping positions, and if you manage to find one(although that would be rare), you'd get sniped by an assault/medic. Discuss |

RE: BFBC2 - Non-Realistic
There are plenty of sniper positions actually. There are bushes tall enough to hide you in almost every map. Plus, your gillie suit is a great bonus. And if you don't want to get killed, don't camp in a place for 20 minutes. Obviously someone would have a bigger than 3 second span of memory, and would return to have revenge.
Snipers are only useless when they camp 4 meters away from their spawn. They can hide in various places, and then rain mortar shells on a tank/building, and spot every enemy while he runs out. I never tried to snipe with a real life assault riffle before, but I think you can be a pretty good sniper with it, if you fire single shots. I am also pretty sure that the last sniper riffle kills instantly from close to mid range on hardcore servers.(Not entirely sure since I haven't played BC2 for a year.) It probably was nerfed or something though. However, the damage is still increased a lot. ....../・ω・ /

As a player of the Battlefield franchise, since Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2: Special Ops, I have to say, that it's all up to personal skill. I, for one am quite skilled with Recon/Sniper, as well as Assault. No, you cannot fire further distance with, say, a M249 than a Barrett M95. I've gotten head-shots on maps such as Atacama Desert from distances pushing 600 meters on it. I don't believe I've ever been hit from that range by an assault rifle, or light machine gun. As for the sniping positions, there are plenty, it just takes intuition as for where you think people will look for snipers at. The worst spots are on the crests, or horizon of mountains, and the best probably have to be in the foliage/forest (If there is any.) Personally, Battlefield franchise isn't supposed to be realistic, just a more open version of the average FPS (Insert COD game here.) with a wider variety of guns. Although it may be realistic in some aspects, it's quite wrong in others. For one, Snipers are trained to go for the center of the torso, as it's a pretty much guaranteed kill with most of the rifles issued in the armed forces. Secondly, a sniper never breathes in, they just stop their breathing to make the shot. However, aspects of it are quite realistic, from the animations, to the maps themselves. All of the maps involved in the game are based off real life locations. And the animations are quite accurate. “Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need. ” - Khalil Gibran SRH's Superadmin ![]() |

RE: BFBC2 - Non-Realistic
BF2: Classic fun, can go ARMA tier with PR, older but realistic graphics
BC2: Infantry biased, slower paced, unique art style BF3: Faster paced, loads of unlocks, beautiful graphics From the Office of President Aflac. RE: BFBC2 - Non-Realistic
I play better as a BC2 recon than anything else, lol.
Getting headshots in there has to be the easiest thing ever, especially with the spotting function. Plus, even if you don't hit, you can mark the enemy for your teammates to take down, and still be a massive help to them. That's part of the Recon's job. He's not a "Sniper", he's RECONNAISSANCE. HIS JOB IS IN THE NAME, AND IT'S NOT TO GAIN "360 1337 he4dsh0tzzz", BUT TO SCOUT AND DETECT ENEMIES. ANY KILLS ARE BUT A BONUS, NOT YOUR ACTUAL JOB. You can be an amazing Recon without a single kill, and make the difference in the game. Of course, when it comes to kills, just aim for the head. Always worked for me. When you get more powerful snipers, I think the chest kills too, I don't remember as it's been a while. ![]() (03-31-2012 04:20 PM)Drakehawke Wrote: Marsh is banned from voting but likes to vote anyway and hope I don't notice. |
