Can someone explain AMD Processors to me?
I've been looking around at laptops, and I know about intel processors, but when I see an AMD processor I have no way of knowing if it's a good one or not, and I cannot really find any sources to tell me.
What I mean is that intel is simple, it's pretty much just i3, i5, i7. But AMD is all over the place, there's no rhyme or reason. Can someone please pretty much put AMD processors in order for me? Thank you. |

check the cpu benchmarks. they line amd up to every other processor.

I always see stuff like Phenom, Athlon, etc. What is the order of the "names."

Don't get AMD processors. They trick you by exhibiting "LOTSA GHZ 4 LITTUL MONI", but they're way less effective (less processing per Hz) and less trustworthy.

Intel is over priced.

I prefer Intel by far. AMD uses really cheap graphic accelerators and try to pawn them off as the real deal.

AMD is proper enough for what ever you gamers use it.
sure it is less reliable, but it is way cheaper as intel. Unless you run a high traffic business server go a head and wast your money on intel. I know AMD is less reliable but so what, you won't notice that. The only thing you notice is your wallet. It is either empty or not. I run all my desktops on AMD processors + ATI graphics Forum To-Do List Request Form for bugs and suggestions |
