A note on the current situation

SRH is dying, yeah we got DDoSed for a few days blah blah blah whatever that's over now so who gives a fuck whether Burnacid could have tried (and failed, I might add) to stop it or not. The problem is the staff in this community no longer have any interest in the server, so they don't play, so players don't join, so "0/64" 24/7 - I feel this is my fault. I decided to add "promoting new staff" to the ECs job list, which evidently hasn't been done at all. Maybe that's their fault, maybe there just weren't any suitable people to promote, but either way the whole things gone tits up.

The EC is inactive and redundant, and there's not enough active people to replace them. As a result of this the EC is hereby declared defunct and disbanded indefinitely.

Their role will now be filled by me (and should he become active again, Rodrigo).

I have no plans to close the server or forums, I enjoy developing SRH and I will continue to do so, players or no players. We have over 12 months server time left in our reserves, if there has been no improvement by then then I will be left with no choice, but that's not something even worth thinking about yet.

In fact I made an attempt to get users, even going so far as to host an event where I offered 10k to any user who managed to get five other users (including regulars) to join. It fell so flat we didn't even get one user, other than the three people who joined when I had rod post a group event. We then were DDOS'd again briefly which ruined it an gmod updated and made it even worse.

Other than that though I have to agree, we have enough staff that some of us should have been staying on more even just idling.

While I can't say I'm pleased at your decision to fully disband the EC, I can understand it. For the most part the only real loss in it is that it means there are four less people capable of keeping an eye of things when they aren't actually on the server.

even if you were more active i dont think there were canidates anyways in my eyes at least

couldnt we have just tried different sa's for ec just give them a shot

i mean only recently the ec wasnt as good as it should be (not saying you guys were bad cause you werent) should have been cycled more that might have fixed it better but who knows

Good to know that i'm a fool by putting out my opinion. Something no one does in public. Everyone just complains to one and other but no one speaks out.

This is not the first time i speak out and suddenly something changes. Guess what, me being a fool helps

To be honest, we didn't need any more staff, on average of 30/40 players on server a good 6-11 mods/admins were on. I don't know if removing EC was a totally smart idea, sure it had it flaws but removing it was probably not needed. But i guess now the EC have nothing to enforce so there job is useless.

I made good recommendations on who to promote it just took fucking 3-4 months for anyone of them to get promoted.

We actually do need more staff, staff members tend to get bored and stop playing as much so it is good to promote people every now and then to keep a cycle going

While yes, the server is temporarily is frozen, it does not mean that we're dead! I think that since we have over 100 people on the forums(Might need someone to check that), we can advertise it to friends and people. Right now the reason people aren't joining the server is because they have no idea that it is back. But, as I say again, we have tons of people on the forums, and tons of loyal fans of the server who may or may not be on the server. People who actually like the server will eventually check on it to see if it's better. I personally think removing the EC was a fairly smart decision. All they really did was help with ban appeals, and to make the right choices for staff members. Drake may not have enough time to handle all applications, but that does not mean that only Drake should handle ban appeals. Forum moderators can do more than warn people, they can probably handle the appeal sections. New staff members? Maybe good, maybe bad. We don't the entire server to be staff, and we don't want it to turn corrupt, but time is passing, and more and more staff are getting inactive. I think we can make it. We just have to pass the large brick wall of knowledge. Tell people you sometimes see on the server that we stopped getting DDoSed! Good luck and have haste! We want this server to get back up soon!

So, have we found out who was the DDoSer? Or was it some kid paying a group to DDoS the server for him... Good luck calling the feds on their asses!
