I have to get a gum graft in a couple of hours. I have a super receded gum line under just this one tooth. They say if I don't fix it it will just get worse. It doesn't really bother me unless I bite into something like an apple, but I guess I'd have to get it eventually.

A gum graft is taking gums from the roof of your mouth and putting them where the receding gums are. They cut open the top, take some shit out, then put it where the receding gums are. I think they use a mixture of glue and dissolvable stitches to get the gum to stay. Then, they stitch open the top with regular stitches. It's gonna hurt like a bitch. Luckily, I'm gonna be on codeine, gas, and Novocaine. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

With the codeine, there are many that will prescribe less and less to you, weaning you off of it. You shouldn't have much to fear. But- I'd highly recommend you didn't do anything too social. It makes you euphoric, which may mess with your inhibitions an' all that. But to be honest, I've heard it also makes you sleepy so you might end up sleepin' it all off.

All the luck to ya friend- hopefully it goes by without a problem, and then you can eat your apples again. :p

Trust me on this, doctors are pussies take double or triple the dose of whatever they give you. If you run on early it just means they didn't calculate it right and you need to take care of it yourself, just wander around in shady areas flashing your money and/or expensive accessories like watch, phone and wallet etc. Usually you will be approached by several independent pharmacists and they will give you some of the good stuff your doctor is keeping from you. Like why would you want to consume the pills that are diluted with lactos or other stuff when you could have a solution with much higher concentration?

On topic though that doesn't sound pleasant at all and I'm very happy that I'm done with that shit, I had braces for a couple of years to turn a tooth around and it hurt like a bitch every time they changed something.

Thanks guys. It went better than I had expected. The nitrous oxide doesn't actually make you laugh (unless you inhale straight nitrous from whipped cream or something), it just relaxes you. It also made me lose perception of time somewhat. It took about an hour and a half but felt more like 30-40 minutes.

I'm in some pain now. It's just sore, as if you got punched in the chin. And tylenol-3 isn't very strong guys, so it's not like I'm high as a kite or something. It's more just like having an alcohol buzz (with pain killing effects a little stronger than regular Advil or Tylenol.) I have to stick to cold thins for at least 24 hours, so that means ice cream, yogurt, jello, etc.

Don't worry, it's not too bad. The Novocaine makes you not feel anything besides some pressure. I didn't feel any pain at all really, besides the Novocaine needle. And I really suggest getting Nitrous. It isn't like you get super high and laugh uncontrollably and feel no pain or something. It really just relaxes you. And like I said, it made me lose perception of time. I was conscious the whole time, and it took about an hour and a half, but it felt like a half hour. Before I knew it, it was over. Also, request to get your T3 prescription before the procedure so that you can take it an hour before the surgery, and feel even less pain/be out of it. Last, bring your iPod, it helps to listen to music.

It happened when I was like 9 I think I don't remember, he probably misjudged the amount to give me. I thought my mom was like a big ogre from Shrek or something
