[D&D] Session 2

So yesterday we played the first sessions. Apart from 1 incident I think it went great. So it is time to scheduled the second session.

Everyone can still join. In the information about D&D you will find everything you need about playing.

How do i join
This is the important one, first of read the information about classes and races of the Player Handbook 3.5 (guides). Then pick a class and race and go fill in a character sheet. I use heroforge to do so. If you are not fimilieur how to do so, add me on steam then we do it together.

Now next you need to do is signup on roll20.net
And sign in of doodle so i can see when everyone is availible.

If this is done you are all set. Time to wait till the big day.

Open SpoilerRecap of session 1:

The group of adventurers reached a tavern in the small town of Fedren. The session started off with the characters going inside to see a small tavern, with two tables, and an inkeeper. Marshmellow(Therai) proceeded to annoy the shit out of the innkeeper, (this was hilarious btw) and was extremely drunk. The innkeeper served the entire party poison bevrages and food, and slightly after 2 orcs arrived inside the tavern. Marshmellow slapped one of the orcs because the orc said he wasnt a woman(He isnt). Marsh proceeded to slap the orc, and then apologized to the orc, and sat down next to the 2 brothers(Xeano and Elessar(calyx)). Finding that the food was poisoned Xeano asked Ryladine to come to the church to get their poison cured. Apon arriving the gang was offered 3 amulets that still have yet to be identified. Then Xeano used vampric touch to drain life from the priest. After this marsh came crashing through the window because he had not come with them. This initiated the first combat scene, the battle was between 4 unknown undead creatures resulting in 2 of them being reraised by xeano, and the rest anhilated by the group. The group then searched under the alter to find a trap door, which lead to a small room that held 3 skeltons. The group made short work of the skeletons and ended up finding a riddle. As they proceeded on, they came across a small hallway that held a pit trap, xeano used his summoned spiders to make a web bridge across that. When they reached the next room they found that the riddle was talking about this room, so they aligned 4 statues, and cleared through a door. Apon arriving through the door, there was a large room with a blood pentegram that was engraved in the floor, with the barkeeper chanting next to it. The battle was quite easy, (albeit long) Calyx used entangle on it while xeanos spiders used web to entrap the barkeep. And the group began beating that motherfucker down. As he died, xeano found a key on his body and unlocked a chest containing 4 items, in which were spilt between the group (masterwork shortsword, Masterwork scimitar, Wand of summon monster I, and a bag of gems). Apon this a small crying sound was heard from a void like cave which appeared as the chest was opened. Inside was a Red Dragon Whelp whom the adventurers freed, and then named Drakehawke(we just call it drake). The dragon offered aid to us in our direst need in which we call him for help and he assists for 2 turns, (we can only call him once per day). The adventures then went up a secret entrance that led to the tavern, and then attacked the 2 orcs that were inside. The adventurers did so much damage that the orcs fled into where the adventurers came from only to be killed by the 2 undead and spiders that were still down there from Xeano. The adventurers baricaded the door of the tavern with a table, and webbed it over with Xeano's spiders, and decided to rest for the night.

What is Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons is a structured yet open-ended role-playing game. It is normally played indoors with the participants seated around a tabletop. Typically, each player controls only a single character, which represents an individual in a fictional setting. When working together as a group, these player characters (PCs) are often described as a 'party' of adventurers, with each member often having his or her own areas of specialty that contributes to the success of the whole. During the course of play, each player directs the actions of his or her character and its interactions with the other characters in the game. This activity is performed through the verbal impersonation of the characters by the players, while also employing a variety of social and other useful cognitive skills, such as logic, basic mathematics and imagination. A game often continues over a series of meetings to complete a single adventure, and longer into a series of related gaming adventures, called a 'campaign'.
The results of the party's choices and the overall storyline for the game are determined by the Dungeon Master (DM) according to the rules of the game and the DM's interpretation of those rules. The DM selects and describes the various non-player characters (NPCs), the party encounters, the settings in which these interactions occur, and the outcomes of those encounters based on the players' choices and actions. Encounters often take the form of battles with 'monsters' – a generic term used in D&D to describe potentially hostile beings such as animals, aberrant beings or mythical creatures. The game's extensive rules – which cover diverse subjects such as social interactions, magic use, combat, and the effect of the environment on PCs – help the DM to make these decisions. The DM may choose to deviate from the published rules or make up new ones if they feel it is necessary.

Release 3.5 of the three core rulebooks
The most recent versions of the game's rules are detailed in three core rulebooks: The Player's Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual. A Basic Game boxed set contains abbreviated rules to help beginners learn the game.
The only items required to play the game are the rulebooks, a character sheet for each player and a number of polyhedral dice. The current editions also assume, but do not require, the use of miniature figures or markers on a gridded surface. Earlier editions did not make this assumption. Many optional accessories are available to enhance the game, such as expansion rulebooks, pre-designed adventures and various campaign settings.

This is a nice short (2 hours) game of celebrity players at PAX




What ruleset do we use
Main base will be 3.5, but nothing is limited. The DM will be the one deciding what goes or not.

Who is the Dungeon Master
For now I am. Keep in mind i'm new to being DM, i've played some D&D games and i'm currently in an adventure with my game community. But i'd like to try if i could carry the roll of DM.

How do we play a tabletop online

Nope you can join in, but you will need to get a char made and sent to burn. I suggest you get his help with that, the program he's using sucks. I'm working on figuring out an alternative that is less buggy/confusing.
