Question about building
http://www.seriousroleplayinghell.com/sh...?tid=16777
In this thread it says you may be raided when your building
However when admins are noclip this is counted as OOC.
I've seen admins use noclip to help build their base. Isn't this classed as getting an advantage + they can't be raided since while they're in noclip they're invincible.
I'm just a bit confused

RE: Question about building
If you get raided or the police gets a warrant on you and tries to come inside you should obviously leave noclip immediately. If they chose not too I think it's abuse.

Typically if I am building in noclip I don't have anything, so if a thief breaks in I will gladly break noclip and open all of my doors for him, same thing with the cops

I let them do their thing while I finish building, I they ask something: I'll cooperate.

RE: Question about building
but its kinda abuse just because you can get better building angles, and that gives you an advantage over other players

RE: Question about building
Building angles doesn't matter with welds and whatnot- when it comes down to it you could set down a box, no longer an issue. GMod is designed to be easy to manage and fit pieces together, like legos

RE: Question about building
Noclipping for building is one of the only things admins can use outside of player admining. It's been that way for a very long time. I really don't see a problem with it if the admin is at least half decent, which most of them are.

Spoiler:
Why hello there insanity
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

RE: Question about building
Oh right, an admin is your slave where he isn't allowed to have any privalages.

I think the advantages of an admin as I know which have been allowed by drake is:

Protecting server

All the users kiss yo butt for a promotion

Change your job without a vote.

Don't get me wrong, I've never abused my powers, and I'm more than happy to help you with whatever pesky issue that keeps poppin' up.

I just think, That with the things that we do get busy with and don't really get to RP like you guys (It's more of a chore than a privalage says drake) which is true.

So I think that drake is being a kind guy and lets us have this. we deserve at least a little no-clip building or a free job.

RE: Question about building
No clipping makes up for the time that you COULD be using to build legitimately but you're always dealing with reports and requests.

RE: Question about building
I'm one of the only admins that might say this. YES USING NOCLIP TO BUILD IS FAIL!
Listen i use it to but only very rarely, i see admins do nothing but use noclip to build. really for everything they are floating in mid air.
Come on it is a bad habit if you ask my opinion. Use if to fix that little thing you can't reach, sure. Use it to build basic stuff no.

I've never used no clip to build but I still think we should be allowed to have that.
